As the audience shuffled in to the reborn Regent theatre in Albury, a sense of animated anticipation began to fill the air. This grand old building - which has become one of the most popular cinema complexes in country Australia - has been taken back to its glory days as a live theatre. John Wood, Peter Cousens, Colette Mann and Melissa Langton headed up a wonderful cast that also featured some sensational local performers.
It was thrilling to hear the songs come alive, and fantastic to see the audience's responses. The 1000-strong crowd gave the cast and crew a well-deserved standing ovation, both at the preview and the opening night. Big thanks to our director, Roger Hodgeman; choreographer, Dana Jolly; producers Spencer McLaren and Dean Murphy; writer, Jon Stephens; our wonderful musical director Kellie Dickerson and all of the fantastic cast, crew, lighting people, set designers, costume designers, band and of course sound people, for bringing this show to life.
And thanks to the audiences of Albury for their support. Tickets for the remainder of the season are now on sale! Does this sound like an advertisement? Well it is! Hurry, book now!
